Argentina’s government has just announced its decision to not apply DST this year. DST was about to begin on Sunday, Oct 18th.
All up-to-date systems include a version of tzdata that says that time changes on Sunday. Thus, these systems need to be updated in the next two days if they are to show the correct time next Sunday.
Packages have already been prepared and are being uploaded to unstable, lenny-volatile and etch-volatile. In the meantime, these packages can be used to fix the systems.
- Etch: tzdata_2009g-0etch1.1_all.deb
- Lenny: tzdata_2009l-0lenny1.1_all.deb and tzdata-java_2009l-0lenny1.1_all.deb (only needed if tzdata-java was already installed).
- Squeeze/Sid: tzdata_2009n-1.1_all.deb and tzdata-java_2009n-1.1_all.deb (only needed if tzdata-java was already installed).
Sid’s version has also been tested for Ubuntu’s Jaunty and Karmic.
