Is there promotional material we’re free to use in promoting these events in our own city? I would like to put some posters up in local universities but I don’t know if I’m allowed to use the Debian logo and such. Maybe having a poster template would be a good idea?

@Marc-Andre Gingras: Having such material would be very nice, but AFAIK nobody has made anything.
You can use the Debian swirl logo to promote your party and make flyers freely, the spacefun SVG images are at http://wiki.debian.org/DebianArt/Themes/SpaceFun
